Marlborough
Kotare Wines are produced from a vineyard in Marlborough, the major wine growing region of New Zealand.

Located in the north-eastern pocket of the South Island, Marlborough enjoys hot summers and long, sunny autumns. Cool nights and the free-draining soils in its valleys provide ideal conditions for grapes and Marlborough's wines receive world-wide recognition.

Add to that the garlic, olives, stone and citrus fruit traditionally grown in Marlborough, the fresh seafood from mussel and salmon farms and local sheep, deer and dairy produce, and Marlborough clearly has claim to the title: "Gourmet Province of New Zealand".

A Myriad of Attractions
Appetites can be built by exploring the region's natural attractions. With boat-only access, many bays, coves and inlets in the Marlborough Sounds provide peaceful havens; there are secluded beaches and freshwater streams for others to enjoy and bush tracks where native flora and fauna can be admired.

Other recreational opportunities abound with the region's golf courses, cycle routes, art galleries and museums.
