Colour: Pale straw with green hues
Aroma: Classic Marlborough aromas of gooseberry and passion fruit with hints of nettle and fresh cut herbs.
Palate: A light bodied, dry, crisp wine that is bright and open-textured, with real transparency to the grapefruit, lime, green papaya and a hint of mineral as the finish lingers easliy. Firm mouth-watering acidity is balanced by a full yet elegant palate.
Wine Making: Drawn from the vineyard in the Brancott Southern Valley of Marlborough, each parcel of fruit for this wine was harvested in cool conditions so as to achieve maximum flavour development and ripeness from differing parts of the vineyard. Pressed immediately with minimal skin contact, the settled juice was cool fermented in 100% stainless steel so as to retain fruit freshness and expression by a number of carefully selected yeasts, chosen for their ability to add complexity and interest. Once blended the resulting wine was then carefully prepared for bottling with minimal handling, fining and filtration.
Aging Potential: Perfect for drinking immediately, this Sauvignon Blanc will be at its best over the next 1 to 2 years. Wine Spectator 2010: 92 points |
