Kotare
Wines are single vineyard wines made from individually selected Estate grown fruit
only.
Intimate knowledge over 10 years of
varying soil types in the Wairau Valley has allowed us to choose the
correct Trellis System, clones and rootstocks for each wine. From these
vineyards all three Kotare Wines are produced: Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot
Noir and Pinot Gris.
Fruit of the highest quality is
produced by following good canopy management practice and vigilance in
the spray and nutrient programmes.
Each block is harvested separately
and grapes from each one scored for flavour and taste.
Their distinctions are preserved by
state-of-the-art winery equipment when the fruit is processed. Made by
Fiona in a brand new facility using premium-quality machinery, tanks,
wine barrels and only the best yeasts, wines bearing the Kotare label are
eventually bottled for discerning international tastes.
